Low rolling resistance pavements can reduce fuel consumption by 4%. In Denmark alone the CO2 emissions from the road transport alone are estimated to 4.6 mio. tons per year. Implementing low rolling resistance pavement on the entire 4,000 km of state roads in Denmark will provide a reduction in transport related CO2 emissions by 160,000 tons per year.
