Towards a more Responsible Approach of Level Crossings (RALC)

Railway level crossing accidents have significant human, societal and financial implications. In most cases, their cause is exclusively attributed to drivers’ behavior, with driving errors and violations of traffic regulations. These accidents are characterised by a significant level of severity, around a third were fatal (SNCF, 2018) and by a relative stability of the number of people killed over the past 25 years (ONISR, 2020).
