Diego Ramirez Cardona (29 yrs) – a civil engineering graduate from EAFIT University in Colombia and ENISE/École Centrale de Lyon – is project manager at Eiffage Infrastructures. He specialises in 5th generation roads (or ‘roads of the future’) as well as in synergies between the road industry and the Eiffage group’s other sectors (rail, energy, development). While working towards his PhD in material sciences at ENTPE Lyon (Graduate School of Civil, Environmental and Urban Engineering), he carried out research on the integration of bituminous materials into railway structures. Before joining the Eiffage group, Diego worked for the engineering department of SNCF (the French railway company) as an expert in geotechnics and bituminous materials.
