Zhangjiajie's Grand Canyon Glass Bridge is a unique pedestrian and tourist bridge built with a single-plane cable-stayed, earth-anchored suspension system, featuring a 430-meter main cable span and a stiffening box girder extending 373 meters. The bridge deck has been constructed as a single component with transparent tempered glass panels. The lateral distance between two successive pylons on the western side of the bridge is 45 m, while that on the eastern side measures 50 m. This paper is intended to discuss some of the key techniques used in designing the Zhangjiajie bridge and provide a general introduction to the structure.
